Shelby Acres, owned by Billy Fred and Donna Shelby, is located just south of Comanche, Okla., near the Red River. Southeast of Lawton/Fort Sill, Okla., and northeast of Wichita Falls, Texas, we are a short distance west of I-35 between Oklahoma City and DFW.
Here we are striving to manage our herd of purebred Kiko goats in a manner that, through future years, will enhance those traits for which the Kiko breed was originally developed -- resistance to internal parasites and hoof problems, fast growth with minimal input, and a superior maternal instinct -- in our own unique environment.
Because we believe that the health of the land and the health of the livestock are closely related, another goal is to manage our acreage with planned rotations so that the plentiful browse continues to thrive and feed our goats.
